Description

A brief demonstration of a case of a prefrontal brain tumour. The growth was caused by tuberculosis. An x-ray of the patient's head is shown. The operation to remove the tumour is shown, and the removed tumour is displayed. The male patient is shown six months after the surgery, healthy and recovered but with slightly impaired movements. 1 segment.

Segment 1 An x-ray of the patient's skull is shown, with the intertitles explaining how the tumour has affected the patient's brain. The operation to remove the tumour begins. The scalp is cut away and peeled back and a craniotome is used to remove a section of skull. The skull is opened. The tumour is removed. The removed tumour is displayed. Various cross-sections of the tumour are shown in magnification. The patient is shown six months after the operation; he is healthy and recovered, though the intertitles note that he has a slight left hemipareisis.
