About this work

Description

The 15 ll. of text are bound in a volume of 120 blank leaves, which is stamped in gold on both covers with the arms of Charles Le Goulx de la Berchère, Bishop of Narbonne [ -1719], illustrated in Guigard's 'Nouvel armorial du Bibliophile', Vol. I, p. 309. The receipts are mostly by the same hand, but there are some additions. The MS. may be approximately dated by the receipt on the 10th leaf for a 'Liniment Anti-Scrophulus' ascribed to 'Antoine Jose da Sousa Pinto ph[armacien] à Lisbonne' who is certainly Antonio José da Sousa Pinto [1775-1853].
