About this work
Description
Leaflet printed in black and red on thin, white card advertising prints, posters and pictures on sale at Pierrefort, 12 rue Bonaparte, Paris. It features a handcoloured illustration of a lobster rising up from the plate it has been served on to seize the nose of the man who has begun to cut into it for his dinner. Chair and wine bottle are both falling over in the struggle. It is signed with a monogram combining an A and a W.
