Description
Osteoclast degrading bone (green and
yellow). The osteoclast cell membrane (pink) surrounds the cytoplasm which contains the ingested bone matrix (pale blue spots). The cell tunnels through the bone matrix in a worm-like manner forming the black resorption trail. Biomedical Image Awards 2005.
