The engineering and necessary alterations in the drainage have involved a further expenditure of ^1,234. The total cost, however, has been defrayed out of funds which have accrued from the maintenance charges of Private and Out-County Patients, which are available under 25 and 26 Vic., c. hi., sect, vi., for alterations and improvements in the Asylum. The Farm has yielded this year a favourable result. The only change of importance in the staff has been the appointment of the Rev. F. F. J. Greenfield as chaplain, in the place of the Rev. T. E. Crallan, to whom the Court, on his resignation, caused by serious illness, awarded a pension of ^166 13s. 4d., in considera¬ tion of his valuable services for the space of 17 years.
