    ADVERTISEMENT. 051 this subject, we intend to include the Eggs of many of the remaining groups, thus constituting our work a text-hook^ both of the Ornithology and Oology of Great Britain and Ireland, more com- plete, more highly illustrated, and cheaper than any other work of the kind. This volume con- tains Forty Wood-cuts, illustrating various parts of the anatomy or structure of the plumage, bills, and feet, and all tending to throw light upon obscure points in the science. We have again to tender our best acknowledg- ments to our friend for his Memoir of Sibbald, with which the volume begins, and which, we trust, will be found as curious and entertaining as those of Sloane and Banks, from his able pen. Our next volume on the British Birds will contain the Incessores or PercJiers, in which ninety species will be described, and the usual number figured by coloured illustrations ; but, previously to its appearance, we hope to present to our readers a volume of British Ouadrupeds, by William Macgillivray, Esq.
