Within Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), rhinoceros horn is thought to have magical medicinal properties. Rhinoceros horn is a form of keratinised hair, the same substance as our fingernails. This ornate drinking cup is carved from a single horn and is covered with intricate decorations. They show fishing vessels on a river surrounded by forests and traditional Chinese dwellings.
