    Chester Port Sanitary Authority. Annual Report of the Medical Officer of Health for 1938 TO THE CHAIRMAN AND MEMBERS OF THE CHESTER PORT SANITARY AUTHORITY. Gentlemen, I beg to submit my Annual Report for 1938. Board. Holywell Urban District is now a member of the Board, otherwise the composition of your Board and the extent of its jurisdiction are the same as in previous years. Foreign Tradfe. During the last year there has been little alteration in Foreign Trade. Vessels arrived at Rhyl laden with Timber, and at Mostyn with Wood Pulp, Esparto Grass, Iron Ore. Scrap Iron and Timber. Coastwise. This traffic has shown little change during the year. Ko Passengers entered the Ports. Inspection. The usual systematic inspection of both Foreign and Coastwise Vessels has been carried out with regard to Sickness, Water Supply, Ventilation, Sanitary conditions of the Crews’ quarters and the presence of Rats. No Rats were found in any of the Vessels. A number of Rats were taken, and destroyed on the quays. Several minor defects were found on inspection in certain of the Vessels, to which the attention of the Master was drawn with subsequent improvement.
