Barrett, Thomas Couchman (1784- )

Receipt book. (Containing medical, veterinary, and a few domestic and cookery receipts.) There are a few additional receipts by somewhat later hands. Inside the cover 'Thomas Couchman Barrett, Born at Chatham, March 27th in the year 1784'. The first 23 ll. contain 'The Latin and English names of all kinds of drugs'. The date 1807 is found in some farm accounts on the verso of the fourth leaf from the end. Produced in Chatham or Maidstone.

1 volume 95 ll. 4to. 19 x 16 cm. Original vellum binding. The margins of the first 23 ll. and of some leaves at the end are damaged. Some leaves have been cut out at the end.
