About this work
A practical joke reported to have been played on a parson who had made an assignation with one of the servant-girls at Petworth, Sussex, the seat of Lord Egremont. In the foreground is the Prince Regent, though, as the British Museum catalogue points out, no visit by him to Petworth is recorded at this period
