    grounds on two days in June for the benefit of the Hospital. The proceeds of these were not paid to the General Fund, but to the “ Blue Bird ” Fund, which was started in 1939 to build up a reserve for adding on a Staff Dining-room and other capital expenditure (see p. 9). The fund stood at £349 4s. 7d. at the close of 1941. The Pound Days, in spite of rationing, were again very successful, the result being 2,04olbs. and over £44 in money. The Hospital Savings Group had a good record of £86 1 os., an advance of over £27 on the previous year. Messrs. S. Cronk & Co., who had audited the Hospital accounts for 50 years, were obliged, with great regret, owing to shortage of staff, to relinquish the task, at least during the war. The Committee express once again their great appre¬ ciation of and thanks for their great help in the past. They also thank very warmly Mr. G. Young, who was appointed in place of Messrs. Cronk & Co., and most generously undertook to carry out the Audit free of charge. Once more the Committee tender their thanks to all the Officers and Staff of the Hospital. C. E. PYM, Chairman. Dated
