About this work

Description

Dr. Mark Porter visits Moorfields Eye Hospital in London, the oldest specialist eye hospital in the world, as it celebrates its 200th anniversary. We hear about the latest treatments on offer there including surgery to reattach detached retinas while the patient is awake, treatments for diabetic retinopathy and laser eye surgery. We also spend time in the A&E department where staff deal with anything from conjunctivitis to serious eye injuries every day.
