Description
Collection of medical receipts and notes, from Haviland's MSS., and extracted from numerous early 18th cent. medical writers. In an inter-leaved copy of Thomas Fuller's 'Pharmacopoeia extemporanea'. Editio tertia. London, 1705. By various hands: in Latin throughout. The date 1713 is found on the leaf facing p. 136. 'Haviland MSS', or 'Hav.' is written against many of the receipts. On the inter-leaf facing p. 128 is the signature 'Isaac Roet Oxoniens[is]' apparently written by a very old man. He is mentioned by Anthony à Wood in his 'Athenae Oxonienses' Vol. III, p. 760, and wrote 'Pestis adumbrata' published in London in 1666.
