Description
Letters from Patten to Wheler and Galton regarding photographing cattle. Patten is optimistic that systematic photography could be useful in the sale of livestock, and discusses the difficulty of representing certain qualities with photography, Hausman's skepticism over the utility of composite photography, and the difficulties in finding three generations of living cattle.
Patten informs Galton that his son has some experience with photography, and would be willing to help.
