Binding: 16th century calf over wooden boards, blind tooled chequerboard pattern of fleurs-de-lys within panel surrounded by blind tooled border of celtic knot pattern on both boards, with evidence of two clasps (brass plates remain on lower board, ends of leather straps secured by brass nails remain on upper board). With 16th century manuscript notes on title page, front pastedown and back endleaves, and extensive marginal notes throughout.
