Description
The second in a three-part series produced for The Department of Paediatrics by The Audio Visual Service, University of Leeds, about the sexual abuse of children. This part focuses on how to ascertain whether or not abuse is taking place and if so how to begin to investigate it and what kinds of procedures need to happen in order to put an end to the abuse. We hear from professionals how a child is likely to approach an adult to tell them they are being abused, which authorities need to become involved, the kinds of physical examinations the child will need and how the child is best removed to safety.

Graves Medical Audiovisual Library was founded by husband and wife team Drs John and Valerie Graves in 1957 as an educational activity of the College of General Practitioners (from 1972 the Royal College of General Practitioners). It soon became the premier organisation supplying audiovisual materials for all the medical and paramedical professions in the UK. Initially it was mainly associated with tape-slide programmes, but by the mid-1980s video programmes also became a major medium.
