Creator/production credits

The artist's name is read as Pfantz by Burgess (loc. cit.) but as Pfautz by Nagler, loc. cit. Nagler gives his forenames as Christoph Andreas and says that he died in 1772 aged 45, i.e. he was born around 1727, which appears to have been too early for him to have engraved this portrait of Essich inscribed with a birth date for the subject as 1757. The British Museum online catalogue gives life dates of (a different?) C.A. Pfautz as ca. 1757-1821
