About this work

Description

Two paintings in Rita Simon's Traditional Transition style, the work on the recto depicting a carousel with animals on it and the work on the verso depicting people and a horse beside a wagon. It was produced by a female patient at a psychiatric day hospital who also produced the artwork in PP/RSI/B/2/7/55. The sheet was originally folded and has been partially flattened for preservation reasons.

The artwork on the recto was reproduced in The Symbolism of Style fig 9.1, page 144.

The first title has been taken from the caption used in Rita Simon's publication. The second has been supplied by the cataloguer for identification purposes.

The works are undated.
