"Voir au Cabinet des estampes, dans la collection Hennin, t. CXIV : La mort de Marlborough ou le petit page (à Orléans, chez Perdoux, 1783) et dans la collection de Vinck, t. VI, fol. 2. Le Réveil de Marlborough où Marlborough ressuscite et met en fuite une femme et deux hommes, tandis qu'au premier plan le célèbre Janot, sa lanterne à la main, gît à la renverse. C'est une allusion au succès du mime Volange dans le rôle de Janot. Les auteurs de ces caricatures se rapportant à Marlborough supposent que John Churchill, duc de Marlborough, né le 24 juin 1650, mort le 26 juillet 1722, ressuscitant aux échos de la chanson devenue de mode en 1782, se plaint qu'on insulte à sa mémoire ."--Blum, loc. cit.
