About this digital image

Description

Burden Neurological Institute, Bristol 1958 Recordings of the electrical signals of the brain are known as electroencephalograms (EEGs). At the same time that EEG techniques were being developed, another complementary innovation was the technique of electrical stimulation of the brain, largely used as a clinical tool for the neurosurgical treatment of epilepsy. This recording demonstrates the results of an electrical stimulation experiment conducted by the Burden Neurological Institute, which specialised in the human nervous system and human neurological disorders.
