About this work

Description

"Trigger warning. This zine is loosely about childhood abuse, trauma, trust, living with PTSD without psych/medical support, unsupportive family, suicidal ideation and hopefully something brighter too. But don't get too hopeful because this is not really what it is about. There are mentions of physical or emotional violence, drinking/using and self-harm. Read with care"--Provided by zinester.

Notes

Title from cover.
"I am making this zine because I am quite shattered. I just finished reading Neely Bat Chestnut Mend my dress zine anthology, which I had to take a break from for a few months - because it hit some sensitive chords, you know? It felt incredibly validating to read childhood trauma related stories like that which led me to begin writing more about things that happened when I was a child and a teen. I question whether I overshare traumatic stories, or if they're actually purposeful. Maybe it eases the fire in me, to make me feel less alone, and also hopeing that maybe sharing can make people realize and accept that you can't really come back from trauma. There are lots of stories I'm ashamed of, stories that I believe are too harsh to be ever told, places I've never really returned from & that I'd rather not bring you. Going to visit my family, being extremely busy & a lot of triggering situations I experienced during the past months informed the creation of this zine."--Provided by zinester.
