Mycoplasma pneumoniae : movement, growth and colony formation.

The film shows growth and motility of mycoplasma pneumoniae, growing in a liquid medium on a glass surface. The growing of single cells out of colony-like clusters, the gliding motion of cells along the grass and the binary fission of the mycoplasma cells are demonstrated. In the last scenes the formation of colonies by single cells and the ageing of culture are shown.
