About this work
Description
The European parliament is considering applications by European technology companies to patent inventions derived from genetic material. MPs are trying to make safeguards. Tom Wilkie gives his ethical and practical reasons for not allowing patents. Wellcome puts its new research findings on the internet every night to make sure its genetic knowledge becomes public property.
