Ranjit Kandalgaonkar, commissioned artist for 'Ayurvedic Man: Encounters with Indian medicine' exhibition.

The imagery behind this art commission came mainly from two collections: photographs and documents from Wellcome’s collections, and satirical cartoons from Pickings from the Hindi Punch, a local monthly magazine held at the Asiatic Library in Mumbai.

Ranjit Kandalgaonkar is an artist. His residency at Gasworks, which resulted in the work exhibited at Wellcome Collection, was supported by the Charles Wallace India Trust and Inlaks Shivdasani Foundation.
