As a GP, Liam Smeeth wanted to know more about the evidence behind the advice he gave to patients. So he moved into epidemiology, and he was recently involved in the largest study ever showing the relationship between excess weight and various cancers. Join us to hear about his findings on the causes of diseases, from cancer in the UK to cardiovascular diseases in low-income countries.

Speaker:

  • Liam Smeeth, General Practitioner and Professor of Clinical Epidemiology, London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine
