Friday Late Spectacular: Your Reality is Broken

Friday late

Drop in

This event includes British Sign Language provision.

Friday 1 December 2017

Perception is fundamental to who we are and how we experience life. But how much can we actually trust our senses? A scientific, philosophical and creative approach to this question will invite you on a journey into your inner and outer experiences of the world.

MAS Productions presents a night of visceral performance and conversation, exploring altered states, visual illusions, hallucinations and how these are linked to the creative act.

Highlights include:

  • A talk by scientist Dr. Edward Bracey joining the dots between the neuroscience and politics of perception.
  • '20 Minutes of Action’, a performance, installation and exploration of visual disturbances, by Nwando Ebizie.
  • A Haitian Vodou Dance Workshop and live drumming led by Zsuzsa Parrag, teaching some basic ritual steps that can create feelings of altered states of perception.

This event is FREE. A small number of performances will be ticketed but most of the programme is drop-in. The building might be busy and space is limited, so entry is not guaranteed.

Tickets will become available below from 11.00 on Friday 24 November.

Three talks will be British Sign Language-interpreted. To book a place with a view of the interpreter, or if you have any other accessibility requirements, email or call 020 7611 2222.
