Join us for a weekend of light-related creativity as part of this year's Bloomsbury Festival.
Make your own lantern to add to our expanding lantern city and use torches, glow-sticks and long exposure photography to paint with light. With drop-in activities around the building, you’re guaranteed to find something illuminating!
Events are suitable for family audiences apart from those marked (14+).

Painting with Light

Chiaroscuro life drawing (14+)
Inspired by historical artwork from Wellcome Collection and elsewhere, this workshop uses dramatic lighting to illuminate the physique of a life model. Sign up on the day to join a session:

Slow Story Slide Show (14+)
Watch a slide show story compiled by artist Sheila Ghelani using the Wellcome Library archives with an accompanying meditation. Limited to groups of ten people per show.
Light Transmission (14+)
A musical radio broadcast, by artist Leah Lovett, charting our shifting relationship with visible light. Visitors are invited to imagine beyond our capacities to see. Listen via your smartphone or one of the radios in the foyer.
