What you’ll do

Inspired by our ‘Cult of Beauty’ exhibition, this workshop will consider different aspects of how we have interpreted beauty in the past, and how we relate to it now.

You’ll start with a visit to the exhibition to get inspiration and then you’ll return to the studio where artist Jess Au will facilitate different activities. You’ll have the chance to do some drawing from life in different mediums, with models from traditionally underrepresented backgrounds. The models will wear a variety of clothing that shows and enhances their bodies.

All art materials will be provided, and there will be regular breaks throughout the workshop, with a longer break for lunch. Lunch is not included, but we will be providing snacks and drinks.

This is a relaxed event with a chill-out space with ear defenders and fidget toys available.

This event is designed for 14- to 19-year-olds and disabled young people aged 14–25 years. We may ask your age at the venue to make sure you’re the right age for our youth programme events.
