What you’ll do

Join us for a day exploring the topic of genetics and the food that we eat. Your sixth-form students will get the chance to hear from experts as they take part in a full day of activities, including workshops, gallery visits and discussions.

This day links to themes from post-16 biology syllabi, such as genetic inheritance and social contexts of gene technologies.

You’ll be sent a pack one month ahead of the symposium with more information about the day, plus pre- and post-visit activities for students to support you in making the most of your visit.

This event is inspired by the artwork Sire, part of the exhibition Somewhere in Between.

About your speakers

Your sessions will be led by expert scientists, as well as social scientists and artists who will reveal the histories and contexts behind the way we breed our food.

Where we’ll be

This symposium will be held at Wellcome Collection and you’ll get exclusive access to the galleries.
