What you’ll do

In this five-hour study session, your students will explore human anatomy and how and why our knowledge of it has changed over the past 2,000 years.

They will begin with a look at key objects, rare books, manuscripts and images from Wellcome Collection’s galleries and Library. Afterwards, your students will have the chance to use their anatomical knowledge to take part in an osteology workshop, investigating a selection of excavated historical skeletons from the Museum of London’s Centre for Human Bioarchaeology.

Who can come

This study day is suitable for students aged 14–19. We can accommodate groups of 20–30 students, accompanied by staff at a ratio of 1:10.
